Alameda County Prosecutors have filed papers arguing sending Mehserlse to prsion for his Involuntary manslaughter conviction. This is in opposition to what was filed by the Defense who want probation for a cold blooded murder.  Mehserle will be sentenced November 5th, in Los Angeles County Superior Court, stay tuned to RFT we will provide you with updates on the 5th as well as reaction from our community.

 

Oscar Grant III was murdered in Oakland, Ca on a BART platform, new years day 2009. Days later on January 13th, the people of the Bay area rallied in front of the historic Oakland Courthouse. The Race for the Times Feed provides a real glimpse at the voice of the people on that day.
