This Race for the Times Flashback originally aired on Sept 6th,1995, features a speech from our Great Warrior Khalid Muhammad, and a conversation about use of Media as a tool by African People.·The night before this taping, Dj Ragesouljah premiered "Da Struggle Continues" ·(a conscious music mix show), which featured a LIVE speech from Khalid Muhammad. ·This speech from "Daundaground," was recorded in a secret location in Oakland, and broadcasted LIVE over the radio via a phone next to a speaker.·Khalid speaks on the MMM, the NOI, being a warrior and even Black and Female Relationships. ·The context of this speech is very important....
"In 1993, following a speech at
Kean College in
Union Township, New Jersey, in which Muhammad referred to Jews as bloodsuckers; labeled
the Pope a "no-good
cracker"; and advocated the murder of any and all white South Africans who would not leave the nation subsequent to a warning period of 24 hours, the
United States Senate voted 97–0 to censure Muhammad, and the Nation suspended him as Minister.
This speech is after that incident, where Khalid has been striped of his position with the NOI.

The Second half of the program deals with the use of media for liberation. LBH, DJ Rage and brotha Akubundu, speak on "Daundaground" the music format created by the crew which featured 20 hours of Black Programming during the week. Never done before or after, the African people on KSJS would take over every night at 10pm to 2am in the morning, starting with a Talk Show focusing on the black community, then continuing with uncensored music from African people from different genres. Talk Shows included shows produced by the NOI, Uhuru Movement, "A Race for the Times," "Sister Circle", "Pan African Perspectives," "Move the Crowd", "Bible Study", and "The Struggle Continues". This struggle to use media as a tool is ongoing, as years later "A Race for the Times" is back, spreading media through the world through the internet. As LBH states in the show, don't be a voyuer !! GET INVOLVED !!! Please leave comments, and pass on our content so we can continue to build!!. Hotep ~ DJ Rage
