Few people have every reached the level of dedication to the total liberation African people and humanity than Dr. Kwame Ture of the All African People’s Revolutionary Party (June 29, 1941 – November 15, 1998). In 1994, Dr. Ture came to San Jose State University to speak to the students and community as he had done countless times before on this and other campuses throughout the United States.

In this clip Dr. Ture explains how to redirect the misguided energy of the youth.

1996 before the term "blog" was even used a small upstart Black media and Hip Hop website Daundaground.com posted this article written by yours truly Dj Ragesouljah.  Times have changed, but this article is unedited as it appeared on the internet in 199sick.

A SOULJAH’S STORY

Rest Afrikan prophet, rest. Tupac Shakur, a self proclaimed warrior, an artist, a poet an actor and a rapper. All Afrikan men in Amerikkka must learn a lesson of survival. We have been told of Darwin’s’ theory of the “survival of the fittest,” and we have said on the street “only the strong survive;” so how can we relate this to our experience and existence. Afrikan men are trapped in a racist, oppressive capitalist system, which feeds on our destruction; we are living in Babylon itself. So in this race for survival we must chose our methods, and our weapons of defense. The path we take in our lives is our choice.... or is it?

This program sparks the turning point of a number of protests and meetings that lead to the successful implementation of "Da Undaground" and "Radio Atzlan" achieving 40 hours of ethnic programming on KSJS radio.
